Last Cyborg Nursery
Tonight is my last installment of Cyborg Nursery. Be sure to tune in from 8-10 this evening at http://www.wrct.org to listen. My dad got this wonderful idea that I should play back clips from old taperecorded shows as a way to reminisce and say goodbye to my listeners. So he dug out some of my old cassettes, transferred them to MP3, and e-mailed them to me. Boy, oh boy. When he said “old shows” I thought he meant from 2002, when I started at WRCT. But no – these clips were from the radio show I did in 1997!!! They were pretty embarrassing to listen to! At the time I hosted an industrial/electronic show with Isabel. We were constantly interrupting each other and talking over one another on the air. We had horrible mic technique, too. Not to mention our lack of intelligent content. Heh! What can you expect from a couple of 14 year olds, right? At least the music we were playing back then was good! Somehow we had Cleopatra Records wrapped around our finger. We sent them a list of old and new CDs we wanted, and they mailed them all to us! Wow. Maybe they were really desperate… or under the impression that we were some kind of reputable DJs. Needless to say, I won’t be airing those old clips tonight. I’m not sure if I’ll do anything special at all. If you have any ideas, let me know.

DJ Nurse Allison DJing Alchemy
I have been DJing as DJ Nurse Allison since 2002. After getting my start on the local public access radio station, I branched off into college radio and spinning at clubs across the East Coast. You may have caught my sets at industrial/goth/fetish events such as Alchemy in Washington DC, Ceremony in Pittsburgh, NEO in Chicago, or BYTE in New York City. These days I have largely hung up the headphones, but my heart still beats loud for any type of electronic music. This section of the site houses playlists and show fliers, as well as information on upcoming music events.
