Nation | 1015 Half St | Washington DC That’s right, it has finally arrived. The final Alchemy event at Nation.<\/p>\n *due to a last minute work conflict, Mohawk Adam could not make it. The deck will be open if\/when it’s not raining, but the tarp was torn up on July 4th, so all DJs will be inside.<\/p>\n Alchemy has called Nation home for almost five years, but the building has a much longer history with our crowd, beginning when it was known as Capitol Ballroom. It has been the site of a great many memorable live shows, and its booths have hosted hundreds of the area’s and the country’s best DJs. Though it hasn’t always been perfect (what long-term relationship is?), we’ve always been reminded by bands and DJs from other parts of the country how fortunate we have been to have had such a venue around for so long.<\/p>\n So, for this last night, we have gathered together as many of the DJs who have had “residency” at Alchemy for any length of time as we could, including flying Defekt back from Portland and Psyche back from London.* With so many DJs, the schedule is cram-packed, and we hope you will come out early and stay all night to catch as many as possible, as they each in turn say their musical goodbyes to the venue.<\/p>\n At 11:45, we will be gathering together in the concert side for one last “family portrait”, and then we will make an announcement about our future plans, and tease you with a few images of the new venue.
