But 2501 surprised me by announcing that I’d be DJing on Alchemy’s closing night. Whee! That kid is full of surprises.

Another pleasant surprise was that Mark Jackson (1/2 of VNV Nation) was incredibly sweet, gentlemanly, and a skilled DJ. Unlike some guest DJs who barge in and barely return your hello (no names), he actually maintained conversation with me and asked me about the venue and gear. He had the floor packed from midnight to 2. Dana rasdna, of course, was in top form as well. It’s always a pleasure (not to mention a learning experience) to watch the Alchemy DJs work. I think every DJ can learn a lot by watching his or her peers in action – and by dancing to their sets, naturally 🙂

Alchemy Timeslots for May 18th Concert Side 9:00 RasDNA 9:45 Nurse Allison 10:30 RasDNA 11:15 Nurse Allison 12:00 Mark Jackson 2:00 RasDNA

[6
8,10,11
