Sally Hansen CSM Barracuda + Wet N Wild Party of Five Glitters
When you hear the word barracuda, do you think of this?
P.S. Don’t Google “barracuda attack,” you will come up with some scary shit.
…Or this? (Those Wilson sisters were so hot. I have a girlcrush on Ann)
…Or if you are a lacquerhead, you might think of Barracuda, the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure color that was concocted by Tracy Reese. This is from the Spring 2011 collection.
For this festive manicure I used 3 coats of Barracuda. Since it’s a pastel creme it was a bit streaky at first. It was pretty opaque at 2 coats but I did a third, just for fun. I painted one coat of Wet N Wild Party of Five Glitters on my accent finger. This glitter is so much fun! Against the blue background it makes me think of confetti thrown up against a blue sky. This one is various sizes of hex glitter, in 5 different colors, in a clear base. I loved it. Recommend!

Sinful Colors Cream Pink
I rarely wear pink on my nails but oh, this color just makes me happy! I wish they had come up with a more imaginative name than “cream pink,” though, which is lame-o. It doesn’t come close to capturing the juicy jubilee of this hot shade.
Cream Pink is a bright magenta creme with a fine gold shimmer that reveals itself in sunlight.
In low light:
And indoors it looks like a screaming neon – surprise!
What you see here is two coats topped with Seche Vite. It was really quite opaque; the visible nail line that you can sort of see here is just my horribly stained nails (thanks, Swimsuit… Nailed It!) and it wasn’t so apparent in person. The formula was very good – smooth, self-leveling, and really a pleasure to apply.
I must admit that I’m harboring a bit of an addiction to Sinful Colors! They are so inexpensive and fun. Pick up a few for your collection for only $1.99 a bottle at most drugstores.

Sinful Colors Adventure Island
Adventure Island is a pale, greyed-out mustard yellow, with a hint of avocado green. Since Sinful Colors’ Adventure Island collection is suspiciously similar to OPI’s Pirates of the Caribbean collection, I was wondering if it could be a dupe of OPI’s Stranger Tides. As you can see below, they’re pretty different. Adventure Island (which I’m wearing) is has more yellow in it.
This is one of those polishes I had to have because it was so ugly! Yes, that’s what I said. A color like this just dares you, “Can you rock my ugliness? Can you, punk?” Well, it was on. Find out who won after the cut!

NYC – Hint of Mint
When the mint green nail polish trend first hit it really annoyed me. I think it’s because many of the shades I saw looked too garish. But after cautiously purchasing NYC’s Hint of Mint on sale, my dislike morphed into enjoyment. It’s soft and pretty, but much more interesting than your standard pink or coral pastel. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on this manicure!
This photo was taken in sunlight.

Search for the Perfect Coral Polish
As summer wears on, I’m craving mani’s and pedi’s in sunny, tropical colors. Nothing’s screams summer more than a coral-colored nail, and I’m on the hunt for the perfect coral nail polish. Here’s my first contender: Essie’s Tart Deco.
