Sinful Colors Adventure Island
Adventure Island is a pale, greyed-out mustard yellow, with a hint of avocado green. Since Sinful Colors’ Adventure Island collection is suspiciously similar to OPI’s Pirates of the Caribbean collection, I was wondering if it could be a dupe of OPI’s Stranger Tides. As you can see below, they’re pretty different. Adventure Island (which I’m wearing) is has more yellow in it.
This is one of those polishes I had to have because it was so ugly! Yes, that’s what I said. A color like this just dares you, “Can you rock my ugliness? Can you, punk?” Well, it was on. Find out who won after the cut!
This creme formula was a bit thin. Although you could probably get away with two coats without much streakiness, the perfectionist in me called for a third. Topcoat is Seche Vite.
You know, this color reminds me a lot of
And I like celery a lot better in my tummy than I do on my nails!
So, well, Adventure Island, you win this round. I have a lot of trouble wearing yellows in general because it doesn’t do much for my skin tone. Because I got lazy I kept this polish on for a couple days, but already I’m craving a prettier, more girlie polish. Maybe a sparkly pink or purple next!

Jewelry, art, music… and makeup! For me, these are all natural ways of expressing myself. The face is a canvas waiting to be enhanced, just like a blank sheet of sterling silver or clay. Here you’ll find an archive of my makeup looks and tutorials. For about 2 years I did my best to never repeat the same makeup (!!), so as you can imagine there are quite a few! I’m happy to answer any questions about how I created a look, product recommendations, etc.
From time to time I have makeup sales, which will also be posted here.
